The word of God is a sword and faith is a shield. It is how we fight every battle. We proclaim what is written, believe and protect it by faith!
Jesus used the word to ward off Satan. After The Father had just announce to everyone at the baptism that Jesus was His son, Luke 9:35, he was then driven into the wilderness. Then the devil came to steal that word given by the Father.
The word of God is a seed, Mark 4:15, “And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts” How often the enemy steals a word from us, both what is written and what was is spoken to us!
And the devil said to Him, “IF You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” Tempting Him, causing Him to question or try to prove Himself. Jesus fought back with the word that was written, “But Jesus answered him, saying, ‘It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ” There were 3 times Satan tried and each time Jesus answered out of the book of Deuteronomy. He didn’t have a discussion, or reason with Him, or try to convince him, He simply spoke what was in the book
It is so important to know the Word. It is much more powerful than people credit it. The Word is inspired by the Holy Ghost and it is a supernatural tool to ward off the enemy. As we study it, it washes us, transforms us and renews our mind. It separates our soul from our spirit and marrow from the bone. It corrects us, it instructs us and shows us how to be sanctified and keep the victory!
2 Tim 3:16, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
So today, I want to encourage you, as a believer, if you want to walk in power, get into the Word. The rhema word as well as the logos (written) is a tool to conquer the enemy’s tactics. Use the shield of faith to protect it!!
