It is said in the Word- those who sow sparingly shall reap sparingly and those who sow bountifully shall reap bountifully.
Paul was talking about giving. But this applies to anything we do for the kingdom of God. If we are constantly in a position where we believe somehow out of nothing sown, we are going to reap, we are sadly mistaken. God needs a foundation on which to build! Jesus said once you put your hand to the plow, don’t look back. He even says you are not worthy of the kingdom if you look back. Look at Lot’s wife, who turned into a pillar of stone for looking back. One thing is guaranteed, it will get more difficult as you press into greater things. It requires more faith and more effort to plow. This is because God is a rewarder. He will always see what you have sown and build promotion after promotion both internally and externally. He will give you great authority internally and great territory externally.
We think it’s ok to just lay back and chill. But pressing toward the mark of the high call takes effort and dedication. We have to overcome and pass the test to which we are being tried! We can only have the character of God if we are tried by fire. Fire is a cleansing process for the old man to die and that the soul of man would no longer dominate this body. Jesus bought us, redeemed us and sanctified us by his blood. We are not our own any longer. But we must put on Christ, press into His image. We must sow into the kingdom with our labor of love. Herein is found promotion. And we are raised from glory to glory. God is getting ready to promote those to which have overcome. Some will be promoted a little, others much, because they sowed bountifully And now they shall reap bountifully. Some have sowed sparingly and shall reap sparingly.
Remember the king in the Old Testament, who was told to hit the ground with the arrows? 2 Kings 13:14–17 we find that Joash, the king of Israel, took a bow and some arrows as Elisha told him.
Elisha said, “Open the east window,” and he did so. Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he did so. Elisha said, “This arrow symbolizes the victory the Lord will give you over Syria. You will annihilate Syria in Aphek!” Then Elisha said, “Take the arrows,” and he did so. He told the king of Israel, “Strike the ground!” He struck the ground three times and stopped.
The prophet got angry at him and said, “If you had struck the ground five or six times, you would have annihilated Syria! But now, you will defeat Syria only three times.”
SOW BOUNTIFULLY THAT YOU MAY REAP BOUNTIFULLY!! Labor to overcome and do all that is in the heart of God for your victory to be transformed! You will fulfill your divine purpose on earth!
